i used to come down to a bone yard near belle that was full of old stuff. last i heard it's gone and the land is totally reclaimed. there was a dodge with a red ram hemi in it that i meant to get (the engine) but before i went back he closed up. can't recall the owner's name but i heard he passed on. this was several years ago.

i've got you on the list, but i had your name in lower case letters. i've changed it on the list to all caps.

 

Sorry Atch, I just looked at the first post and saw a pretty short list sans my name. Should have known there were more than 40 or 50 HAMBers here in MO.

I think the guy you came to see here in Belle was named Vick Butler.

Sadly he is gone and with him that wonderful junkyard.

He used to always say, "If that one breaks, come back and I'll give ya another just like it."

 

Figured this would be my best bet and since I'm not exactly sure what section to post this question...

I'm in Lee's Summit, MO and bought a 1946 Ford (my avatar) in Butler, MO (48 minutes south on 71)
The car is too wide for my friends trailer and all the rental company's don't have any in.
Was wondering if someone would like to make some extra money and pick it up for me and drop it off at my place?

Frank: Not sure where all you've been to, but I always went to A-1 on US50E between 291 and Todd George to rent trailers...not sure if it's still there or not, it's been a few years. There's also a good-sized rental place in Raytown on 350W near the Herdon campus with a lot of trailers. There are a few haulers listed in the Alliance Vendors section. BenD is a Missouri guy and has gobs of great kudos from his customers. Frustrating when the car is so close but you can't find a way to get it to you. Good luck!

On the retirement front; I highly recommend it.

As for Clarence, maybe he'll be ready to go in April and maybe not. It sure would help if I had a heated shop. I'd like to be there, though.
