Thanks guys! I've never built a project around a particular part before, but maybe I oughta buy a set of these cool valve covers and and start from there. I do know of a guy who has a '57 F100 less the bed and a possible lead on a 292 & 3 speed...hmmmm.:D
The .060 over 292 that was the original propulsion for my avatar sounded really good with headers and glass packs and I think I'd rather build another Y block than the 429 currently on my engine stand.
My next thought , is there a valley cover in the works Brandon?

Eli thanks for taking the time and doing this. They look great painted as well. I am working on doing a valley cover. I have bounced around a few ideas. So far I'm thinking about doing a valley pan with the fins running the same way. I'm contemplating on doing 1 with or without the oil fill tube in it. Maybe you guys can give some feed back on what you would like to see available.

    Thanks Brandon

I say go with the filler tube. I'm buying the whole set :) Great work!

  6. There are a few things I need made for a few Y blocks I need and I will take you or ship the original parts that I need copied. Can I put an order in now for a pair of these valve covers along with a matching valley pan with filler tube and pcv valve baffle?

You're quite welcome, your idea has great potential. Also, it looks like others would like to see a valley pan with oil filler tube too. I'm thinking you can't go wrong here.

Thanks I'm working on doing a finned pan with filler tube. I just haven't made up my mind on what design to go with.

Subscribed. Defiantly like the different look of them. A valley pan would look great too. I second the filler tube and pcv valve baffle and hole in the back. Keep us posted!-dd

I endorse! looks like a good alternative!
BTW if you build a vallycover I would consider using a threaded oil fill tube. That way you can remove it and ship it in a smaller box. a few bucks saved, I think.
Might cost you more in setup though.

These are way cool. Almost one of the items that makes you want to build a car around. The finished polished pics really makes these pop.

holy fuck these are sick! will they fit a 272?

  18. I don't think so. They should fit all the other Y-blocks, though. The 272 is kind of an orphan.

Todd I think youre thinking about the 239 inch y-block. The 272, 292, and 312 should be the same.

Doesn't the 239 use the same valve covers as the 272/292/312?

  21. I was actually just being a wise-ass.:D:rolleyes:

Though numerous other differences between the Ford & Lincoln, I'm pretty sure the valve covers interchange whether it's a Ford, Merc, or even a Lincoln (if the right studs are used).

I know for a fact they will fit a 272. We popped the ratty old covers off the mill in my 55 Customline. Even with all the grime and cobwebs and whatever else, they really REALLY look killer. Pics don't do them justice!

Is it possible for you to find out how much postage would be to Brisbane Australia?
