Is Firebird now Wild Horse Motorsport Park or a different location (city)?
Will be watching for the annoucement, we always have a good time at your show.

  2. YES...Formerly Firebird.
Charlie Allen owned the name,,.but of course he would have SOLD it to Gila River Community

  6. This is the latest from around here:

The reason our event is not mentioned is because we haven't signed a contract yet.
After two red light starts this year, with considerable advertising expense,we are not going
to announce anything officially without said contract.

We are tentatively scheduled for early November...Southwest Nostalgia Drags and Car Show / S/SS Combo race

Mark, Spike, any news on a date for the nostalgia drags?

  9. Thanks for asking Mike,

Sorry to report, but after nine or ten months of trying to work with various entities at Wild Horse Pass Raceway, we have come to an impasse with these folks.

After being promised that we could do a partnership arrangement similar to what we had at Speedworld, we are now told that it is strictly going to be a Charlie Allen style rental situation down there only.

So, that is where we are. Without a financial backer or partner, we are unable to proceed at this time. If anyone out there is interested in such an arrangement, we are all ears.

    Thanks,

    Mark and Spike

That stinks. I hope you guys can eventually work out some venue for this gig. Your races are always a good time.

Damn, don't give up guys! I love these races and all the goofy fun stuff that goes with.

  13. Gotta say that SIR has that homey feel to it tha Sw use to have.I know that there are things that wouldn't fly at Wild Horse that might be ok at SIR for a show like Southwest Nostalgia drags.

Marky....rumor has it you scheduled two events with the Wildhorse pass dragstrip?

spill the beans, enquiring minds want to know.

  17. Glen , I will be making a big announcement real soon, right here.
I just can't do it now...just a formality still needed.
Hang in there just a few more days, guys.

I should be able to provide a better show than our first outing, this was a 7.55 pedal pass on a 10.5" tire in Las Vegas.

Glen, That is one awesome ride you got there, I'm looking forward to seeing you guys.

With the both tracks being shut down for so long around here we should have a very nice turn out of cars and spectators.

Thank you all for your continued support of our event.

Well, this is the time of year for conflicting events. I'm sure there'll be plenty of folks wanting to come out and run.
