I want to build a trailer hitch for my Falcon wagon to pull a small travel trailer, a '62 Shasta Compact, maybe 1400 pounds. I figure I'll have to somehow tight it into the subframe around or in front of the gas tank. Has anybody put a trailer hitch on a falcon/ Any advice?

    Thanks.

I would think someone makes one for it... They make them for civics... And what the hell can that tow...

  4. I'd double check the weight on that Shasta. I had one. A 63' if I recall. It weighed more than the space shuttle.

The weight on the title for our '62 Shasta Compact is 1105 pounds.

upgrade suspension and brakes too. don't forget towing mirrors, and maybe a hidden rear camera.

They're on my list. I was wondering about towing mirrors. a hidden camera might be a good idea. Thanks.

You can buy a sort of "universal" class 2 receiver that is adjustable to fit different distances between frame rails.

That's what I did for my 49 GMC.

  12. I was just going to suggest this.

Every trailer shop and hitch house told me I'd have to custom fab a hitch for a 60 Ford F100. "Leave the truck for a week, we'll weld something in."

Measured the width of the frame rails, did some searching online, found a "universal" hitch that fit my width and weight requirements. Drilled some holes and bolted it in.
