Looking for a shop recommendation to install new valve guides for our flathead 6 Nash block in Austin, TX. We've got the guides, just need to have the old ones removed and new ones pressed in. If anyone has a trusted shop please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Ben

Thanks Treb11, much appreciated. Llano is a little off the beaten path. Anything closer? I'll head out there if that's THE place though.

If the original guides are pressed it it really isn't rocket science. I'd think that most quality automotive machine shops are set up to do it. Most likely they are going to do it by hand with a stepped punch made for the job anyhow.

Not a lot to it , measure the height of the ones in the block and drive them out the bottom. Install new ones from the top with a stepped driver like stated.
I have made a stop block on some engines to speed it up , less measuring.
Most any engine builder can do this.
I'd be concerned when your talking about cylinder and line boring, then you definitely want a recommended shop.
