The 41 is still in cali, at fatluckys getting what is sure to be a stellar interior done, I have made a lot of changes in my life this last two years,(all for the better) I now own 100% of my shop , premier body and paint. I am back on track in my kustom life and have been working hard the last 4 months getting some old stalled projects underway, and some new ones started. 2014 should be a very busy year and I plan on having 3 or 4 new customs out...anyway,...I started working on this car about 3 weeks ago, it is another build for roy(guy who owns the 41 ford), I have some crazy things I want to do, I hope I can pull it all off. Here is the progress soo far, chopped 3.5 inches, working quarter windows, dual antennas, next is extending the fins, taillights and rear end treatment.

Looks great so far, Jeff! I've enjoyed following along elsewhere and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. I love '57 Fords.

Jeff, you have such an eye for proportion, it is always great to see what you are creating!

  10. I've been looking at doing this same project. I'm still studying the vent window frame. It's not cutting and welding the Pot Metal frame work that bothers me. It's making them fit correctly as well as work. If you'll post photos as they come along I'll be taking notes. I had the ones on my other 57 re chromed 2 years ago. Getting them apart was no big deal. I ended up making most of the new rivets so it looked factory. What a headach.

Proportions look really good. I'd be terrified of the glass, you're a braver man than me! Should be a stunner when it's all together.

traditional glass cutting method, with a glass cutter and then sanding the edges..

Please show us how when you do that. I have cut a few but would be very nervous about one of those.

^^^ What he said. I busted two windshields trying to replace the glass in my '56 F100, can't imagine how the shortening and install process might be in your case. I'm all ears, er, eyes. :D

WELL, cutting the glas on this can't be that much different then on my chopped 57 caddy, and it was chopped 4.5 inches where this car is just 3.5, and we didn't(knock on wood) break any on my caddy, got it right the first time. just takes time , cut lil half moon chunks out until you get close to where you want to be then sand the edges, sounds easy , but it is harder then that description.. but that's the gest of it...

I really really like it :) Those Fords rock! And it's been said, don't see em transformed like this. All the best for 2014.
