Just bought a T bucket with what the po told me is a 1950's GM pick up axle. I found this number on it: 3833377GM8 If anyone can tell me what year pick up that's from I'd appreciate it, or at least point me to a source where I can find that info or tell me what to look for on the axle to i.d. it. Thanks.

A picture would do the trick pretty quick.

That number doesn't show up as a pickup axle from 57 or earlier. Probably a 60's vintage G series van axle.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'm not 100% sure, but it seems that it is a '60's GM van.
