In another thread someone said the Pro Stock valve covers were a generic valve cover sold at stores like Sears and JC Penney.

100 bucks a pair for what used to be entry level finned valve covers?

Saw a pair on Ebay that the seller said were "rare" and they went for 125. I always thought rare was how I ate my steaks though.

  7. thanks for posting, have not seen those cool valve covers in a while.....or green grass...more snow coming tomorrow

Nothing special about those, they were simply an aftermarket line of valve covers that were made at one time, maybe still are. Is that what you are asking ?

A generic brand of valve covers that could be made with any logo in the center? Do I win?

  12. Was I the first one to see the logo is upside down on one of them?
That logo is formed by an insert in the mold that can be removed and replaced by a different one. Someone screwed up and put it in wrong and made a run of bad parts, should have been scrapped, but one got out of the factory. Possibly made in China and the workers couldn't read English and couldn't tell which side up the letters should be.

They are mirror image so the lettering can be read from side otherwise one would be upside down.

  19. Better look again! The way these are molded 1 is always up side down, look at a pair of Edelbrocks. Ever notice sbc cylinder heads are always the same, not left/right pairs?

He is correct one is upside down. I was in manufacturing for many years and most times they make those inserts idiot proof but apparently not this time.:D

  22. I was in manufacturing engineering for about 10 years, part of that time as a production trouble shooter. I learned early on that every time you made something idiot proof, someone would come up with a bigger, better, stronger idiot.

Since they are just knock off valve covers put them in the Bridgeport and make a set of full finned valve covers out of them.:D

  26. I've never seen a pair, upside down, inside out, ass backward, misspelled or any other way 'til this thread.

  27. They would still have a big blank section in the middle - there would be no fins there
