What did you end up paying for the kit from jamco. I plan to lower my 56 special in the spring after paint, but I gotta get the pump back on from terrill machine. P.S. guys Mr. Feltz knows his stuff highly recommend
If I remember correctly I paid less than four hundred bucks Sent from my SCH-I535 using H.A.M.B. mobile app
That's not bad at all been going back and forth between this and air ride. Still having a hard time posting pictures of the car here. Thx for the quick response
I wanted to do air bags but couldn't justify the money. Very happy with the Jamco setup. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Makes sense because more than likely I'd finish it up around the summer and maybe not even drive it more than once month. But my plans are to keep the stock drive train 322/dynaflow, get it down on the ground and do 20x8 fronts with 20x10 rears. Possibly paint on a white wall. I have a scarebird kit but still up in the air on the installation. I really want to have paint done 1st.
Mine is also stock eng and trans. You won't be disappointed with the Jamco springs! Here is a post lowering pic. Sent from my SCH-I535 using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Looks like it will sit lower in the rear with jamco springs. Does it sit level front to rear? Ever bottom out out on you and scrape?
It sits pretty well level. I have air shocks in the back and aired up it sits a bit high in the back. Scraping is an issue on driveway approaches and speed bumps, I have learned to be very cautious! Sent from my SCH-I535 using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Do you think a taller tire will help with that my plan is to run 20s but if i can get a set of 235 75 15 wide whites for a reasonable price I'll go for it.
I just took measurements and mine is sitting at 28 and 1/4 inches from the ground now but driver side is 1/4 inch lower
Top of fender openings where tires sit. I'm pretty sure I have sag from over the years. But no complaints here. I bought from second owner who rebuilt the engine as far the paper says back around 97 and was driven till 2000. So far I've installed all new fuel system minus carb rebuild. Will be on the hunt for wide whites soon or 20s which ever comes out cheaper
Pleeeeezzzeeee, No 20's........the car is too classy. Maybe some 16' Salt Flats & turn your skinny whitewalls around!
Still up in the air the 20s have to see how expensive the build gets. But I got my rebuilt pump in the mail today from terrill machine. No more fuel leaks for now atleast. Will do an oil change in the morning and maybe even a spin around the block
Drop spindles you say........... I keep seeing mixed reviews on those. But those wide whites are pretty sweet
Just talked to his Dad, and yes he used 2" dropped spindles (Fat Man) on the front and kept the stock springs.....
Thanks for the reply. I'm finally get the tags today for the old girl and tires so I can take it for a spin
No problem.. And just in case you are not aware, you are set up to NOT receive personal messages on here.. Hence the public post... Cheers....
I honestly don't have much of a clue on how to set all these things up. I will try again this weekend thanks
