30 posts and no mention of "chop the shit out of it"? This is still the HAMB isn't it? Christmas dinner must still be wearing off............feeling kinda sluggish are we? Frank
I work at an Antique Mall in Louisville, Ky. in the heart of Buechel, which is one of many suburbs in Louisville. Seems I have been driving by this garage every time I went to work. It was literally 1 mile from where I worked.
The Nova is a 70 model, so it isn't HAMB friendly. Don't know what he plans to do with it. Probably sell it. It is an ugly 6 cyl. 4- door model, and every panel is either dented or something.
OK, I'll say it: 1. how does he plan to wash it? 2. that ain't patina, that's mold. 3. when's he gonna paint it? Seriously, that's a magnificent find.
man i have been looking for one of those for a few years now want to trade for my coupe.. i need a family car tk
interesting Raulang body.. others Raulang's I have had the chance to check out didnt have the glass. It appears (from the pics) that the glass is "framed" in wood, which "maybe" could be removed. perhaps this wagon was fitted with glass at the factory? a telling sign would be the TYpe of wood around the glass.. as the factory would have likley used the same type as the body.. the other interesting feature (to me anyhow) is the wood across the doors.. the simplicity of the design differs from other raulang bodys (from the pics anyhow) either way.. excellent find..
STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before you do a thing to it post this on the FORD BARN. There is something very special about this body, Show Car or Protype? Bob
The wood on your car is totally different from the wagons Ford produced in 1930. In 1930 the Murray Corp. was given the contract by Ford to produce wagon bodies. When Murray realized it could not meet production demands it sub contracted Baker-Raulang to help with the demands. Even though vendors were producing bodies for Ford, they had to meet exact specifications of the Ford body. Perhaps it started life as a sedan or even if it was a real wagon it was rebodied by Raulang. Pictures of the floor pan would help.
Looks like we have ourselves a real Christmas Woody Mystery! What an awesome discovery. Looking forward to seeing this project progress.
That style of window was used on a vintage Rolls Royce and on a Jaguar (sorry I cant identify which ones) it was also used on early model Morris 850 (mini minor). But it could be an interesting window on a soft top instead of side curtains
