"a blatantly, intentionally shitty looking car" Just how was it "intentionally" shitty looking? Have you ever read anything about the build of the car? Every part of that car was designed to "intentionally" win and it did, but I guess some think that a car has to win show trophys also to be considered a real race car. Ridiculous. I must have missed the beauty part in the rules. The induction system, exhaust, and ride height were designed for performance. Not to "intentionally" look "Fucking UGLY". Sounds like old Don is jealous that his car didn't get anywhere near as famous and it sounds like you just like kissing his ass by agreeing with everything he says. So let's hear it, what exactly is "Intentionally" shitty about the car?

High and Mighty sure is famous for a car that basically raced 1 year.

Back on topic. A sure way to kill a thread is BS that you can take to the PM messaging. You are not asked to heavily critique any car on this thread. Start your own to do so.

Yeah, guess we are spending a lot of space talking about an "altered" in a gasser thread! ;)

High and Mighty seemed pretty close to a gasser to me with a full body and all. If you pused the rear wheels back a few inches after they put rear fenders on it, it might just be a legal gasser. Not sure without an old 1960 rulebook. When I first saw a pic of it, I thought it was some early crude goofy amateur attempt at a drag car by some local yokels. My opinion changed fast when I learned it was built by the Ramchargers and was a engineering marvel in it's day. I've looked at it so much now, it's starting to look pretty cool to me.

  9. I can post pics of my fenderwell headers and promise my exhaust wont look like that if it will help? Mockup also shows the 2 carbs on the tunnelram will tuck under the hood. Last but not least I will radius and use my rear fenders. :)

And a cowl induction hood...and a dozen modern speed equipment stickers. And we won't draw attention to the fake spindle mounts, cause FalconGeorge will flip out and hurt somebody's feelings....:D

All in all,it looks like a fun truck, but it's got it's genres all mixed up: '70's hood,'80's decals,'90's wheels out back...a wheel & tire change, and a stock hood would really tie it all together,in my opinion.

Honestly,I never had a hate on for those front wheels like some guys on this site have,as i feel they are the lesser of two evils compared to welds or centerlines or any of the '80's style wheels.

Lol!You know what I mean man....I REALLY dig a set of old magnesium Americans,or some Halibrands, but it KILLS me when a guy builds up a pretty cool looking car, then drops the ball at the one yard line by putting modern looking wheels on a car that was built to emulate a sixties era car.....

This leads to a good point of discussion:
    Period correct wheel styles.

Here are a few examples of stuff you might have found on a car running down the track in '65:

Skinny Americans (or one of a dozen close copies) up front

    Some fatter ones out back...
