    Bob Drake's grille is $795. Speedway is $615. I just bought a Bob Drake chrome 40 DeLuxe grille form DRAKE and shipping was free. It fit like a glove and the finish was great. China made grilles are notorious for poor quality and fit. The $180 difference is not worth it. Buy the DRAKE grille. You will be a lot happier in the long run.

    I wonder who has it in stock? Probably not Bob. If you can get one, his stuff is nice.

    go with Drake or a NOS one as the grille fit is crucial to the front sheet metal fit. They are out there--picked up a NOS one a while back complete with O1A tags on it for the same price as a repo grille. CK egay--think I saw one on there a while back--both halves but no center piece

  5. I used the Bob Drake grill in my convertible,,fit like a glove. HRP

    Thanks, seems like everytime i try to buy something from drake they are on back order, but don't need it for a while. Is the 39 delux and 40 standard the same?

    In Nov. 2013, I received my grille directly in about 10 days from BOB DRAKE after ordering it on-line directly from him. Very happy.

    Hi "Y";
    I had to buy new grille for both my cars. All Ford Parts in San Jose had Drake boxed grilles for $100 LESS than BD.
    Just for the record a '39 deluxe will interchange with a '40 standard, but are not the same. Look at the number of rails. The '39 has fewer rails and spaced farther apart. Look in a Drake catalog, and you'll see the difference. Another difference is depth. They are the same height and width, but the '39 is slightly more "blunt" than the '40 by about 1 inch. It gave my little truck a noticeable over bite.

    39 Deluxe and 40 standard grills are really very different as are their respective hoods

    Try Dick Spadaro for a Drake gril.

    The Speedway grille will fill the hole and nothing more. It is very poor quality, and using it will make the fitting of the front end next to impossible
