I tracked down the owner today, he told me that he drove this 41 coupe in and parked it there 30 yrs ago. Has not touched it since then. Good news is he has to move all of this stuff as the property is up for sale. He thinks he will be ready to sell in the next few months.

Ask if he will sell parts. I am restoring/ building a cherry 41 and need trim pieces. I can pay you to buy/pull/ ship them......

this old 1939 Ford deluxe coupe was beyond help, but it had been a 50's hot rod, with a engine swap and 12 volt conversion done by a long gone hotrodder. I wanted one of these since I was 10 years old. My dad bought a 40 ford coupe when I was 10 years old, to get the engine for his 1941 Ford 2 1/2 ton farm truck. he made me pull the coupe to the crick and push it in. so I bought this 39 deluxe because it is as close as I will get. My sons and grandsons help with it and it has become a thing we all enjoy. I am teaching my grandsons about fixing cars and making memories they will have the rest of there lives. Not many things do that any more.

I'm with you.......I almost puked reading Auto Doug's post. My wife cried over that nice '55 Ford Wagon.

    I don't understand some people....

I honestly think this sort of thing (crushing and destroying good vintage iron like this) should be a crime.....or at least a heavily fined offense.

Like $10,000 to $20,000 per car......

Sure...there would be exceptions to the rule....but this is B.S.

The problem is the people who know about these auctions and keep it to themselves. They don't want any competition. They want to be able to buy the stuff cheap and turn a a profit, but then they will whine and cry about all the stuff that crushed or scrapped because no one was there to bid.

^That is one of the lamest spins and assumptions on the HAMB yet. Couldn't disagree more. Don't try and turn that around placing blame on auction attendees. If there aren't enough bidders, that is solely the auctioneer's fault through lack of advertising and nothing else.

i'd take that and the 57 link convert in the backround

  16. Am I understanding this correctly? This 57 Olds wagon got crushed! I have been looking for one of these or its Buick cousin for a while and I think I'm either going to get sick or break something.

After seeing the ones that didn't make it I too feel ill. Especially the '46 Chevy. It looks like it could have at least made a good donor car for mine. Or the other way around!

Not that it matters but Im pretty sure that 55 is a 4 door with the pic taken at a angle to make it appear to be a 2 door.

I think that's the Ford wagon in there, if we're both looking at the same pix. Either way, it's a loss...

  25. ...now that I look at it again, you are right, the front door rear post is too far ahead for a tudor sedan; good eye!...still looks like a solid car, maybe for a tudor conversion.
