I sure do love an all black Roadster !! awesome . Very nice job on the details. I know it takes a ton of effort on all the small details that mostly go un-noticed by most but it really paid off. Very Very nice .
It is your car but if it were mine , here is a detailed list of what I would change .

Yes, the gauges are '33 dodge...a local guy here does woodgraining using the new hydro process. He laser traced the panel and the gauge openings , then created the woodgraining (burl) inlay which was then placed on the panel behind the glass. Turned out nice, I prefer it over conventional woodgraining.

I have had several people ask about the seats. They are not true Stearman biplane seats but somewhat similar. They were built by Jamey Jordan in Mississippi. A truly talented individual who was easy to work with. He is on the H..A.M.B. He will make them to your spec's and his workmanship is impeccable.

  10. Just caught this thread and glad I did. Beautiful roadster! It has a unique style to it yet still being traditional. All the little touches really make it stand out.

Kind of a funny thing to compliment but I really dig the door hinges!

The hinges, head lamps, rear view mirrors and windshield are all kind of different pieces but different in the same vain or vibe so it feels cohesive.

Sometimes you see a car with a handful of pieces outside of the norm and they read like a standard car with a bunch of random rare or odd stuff thrown on to spice it up. And while it's neat to see all that neat stuff sometimes they loosen the focus on the vibe the car sets or is trying to set

Funny you should pick up on the door hinges...I masked them off when I painted the doors. After I was finished I unmasked them and couldn't decide what to do with them (leave them natural, polish them, paint them black) so I didn't do anything. I can always paint them if I get the notion. (I flip/flop on them all the time)

Very nice and tastefully done. I really dig your door panels, interior panels, etc...
Well, and pretty much everything about the car!

It's kind of odd, you can see how much attention when in to everything. But when you take a look at the car as whole, you will see no single part sticks out, no single parts begs for attentions and nothings is made to yell: I'm a hot rod, look at me. But the car gives of a vibe of: like me, love me and take for at ride.

I bet at a show you would work by it, came back see two things, come back and see more. And thirth time around you see almost everything.
    That is flawless!

And I back 3W Larry up and say: waiting inpatianly for pictures! :)

Wow, that one raises the bar a bit. I have to agree with those who said that from any angle you see a complete package that all flows together as a unit and no individual piece demands your attention away from the rest of the car.

Outstanding car that looks like it will get driven a lot.

As promised here are some engine bay photos. Nothing special, no billet , no chrome, no bling. The engine and trans is '39 Merc .030 over with headers, Mallory dual point, dual fuel pumps, cut flywheel, etc. I wanted the early look but with some guts.

The battery is 12volt maintenance free made to look like early Ford 6volt.

No billet, no chrome, just perfection.
Exactly what this car needed to look like under that body. I am impressed with the continuity throughout the whole car.
