Yes it was and still is. We ran it at the New England Hot Rod Reunion this year. And we run the Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drags every year. I'd appreciate copying the pictures for my collection.

Correction: "Pete has the Honda of Wilmington car. The mangler is in a garage in the Chicago area were it remains because the guy never paid Eddie Flourney for it." - wavemaker

Think you're right on the top photo, Jim Nicoll in the Der Weinerschnitzel car, can't make out the second name, could be Shubeck, or does it say "Starlight"?

Could be, Larry, this is as close as I can come. Chuck Griffith drove Starlite IV, here at Pomona in '68. No wing on nose, but could have been added...still not sure, though:

Thanks! Searched Don Ewald's site, no mention of either driver or car, so wonder if this is the only picture of it? Anyone know more?

Some photos from Edmonton Speedway, not all are dated so hope they are within the timespan of this site:

Terry Capp and Bernie Fedderly -- didn't Capp go on to top fuelers? We know where Bernie Fedderly would up, with John Force

Just noticed this, Tom, clearly the notch for the axle in the nose is way forward now...have no idea why, at this time in drag racing history, cars were being lenghtened, so not sure why this appears to be shortened...anyone? PVTA Jay?

Maybe the body came off another car and they notched it to retro fit it to their car.? Not sure just my guess.

  28. Maybe the LWB version was too stable and too easy to drive... :)

  29. Maybe it was too long for the trailer. :D

A 427 Ford powered Falcon A/G car ... Englistown, NJ 1965. As I recall this car later was named Strange Brew. I don't recall who it was though ...
