Just brought home a car I've known and thought about for the last 6 years.. Its a 63' impala ex drag car.. weekend warrior style Jr Stock. The car is in the original paint, nice and worn. Interior is decent, i'll see what cleans up. Hoping to have this for sometime.....

  2. The paint is worn out. Nice car but it needs some protection.

It's a 65' 327/glide. Also still has the P-case. I plan to scuff the body and clear it.

Body & trans combos along with the long wheel base do not make for a good stocker but will make an excellent street car

Great Car, I had one in High school 63 SS with powerglide, Like we all say !! wish I still had it!
    Please keep it going.
Did not drag race my 63 ( on the strip) but drag raced a 66 Impala on the strip.
    Have fun with it!!!

Update!! I made contact with the gentleman that built and raced my 63'! It was raced all over upstate ny including Niagara! It was raced in the Stock Automatic class.. "O-Stock". The motor was actually freshened up just before he decided to park it. Pretty awesome to hear him get excited about the car and racing. He lives about 40min from me. I'm gonna drive the car over to him this summer. He's gonna start looking for the slides his buddy took of the car racing back in the 60's!

Yeah, seems like we hit it off pretty good. He's was happy to hear a "kid" was into his old car. He was telling me some cool story's about how he was one of the first guys in this area to actually run a p/g with a shift kit and a 3000 stahl. He said the flag guys thought he was cheating the way the car was launching. Also he told me the gears are 4:56 not 4:88's. Little better for street driving lol!

I dig everything about this Impala. The way it is setup, the petina, the history. It's a keeper. Early 60s Jr Stockers and Super/Stockers kick ass.
