  2. The 1936 - 1937 Terraplanes are VERY similar-looking, but that is in appearance only! Same for the same years of Hudson. The '36 cars are different cars dimensionally in nearly all respects, from the '37 cars. The 1937 cars are slightly larger overall. Plus, the front and rear suspensions are completely different. Mechanically, the engines and transmissions interchange just fine, but most all else is different.

  3. Here's my '51 Pacemaker and I am going to pick up a '47 Commodore eight at the end of the month. I can't get the pics of it to load.

THANKS. The "bumper" was made and added because the fender lip that extends below the grille kept dragging and getting bent under (I re-did that area 4 times !!) on many elevated driveways, speed bumps, etc. So far that hasn't happened since the bumper takes the abuse.

Part of the FANTASTIC collection of Hudsons currently on display at the Gilmore Car Museum here in Hickory Corners, MI. Come see for yourself, this is just the tip of the iceberg, and it's all one mans collection.

  10. Nice! I dig the supercharger hanging out in the breeze, and that Hudson woody wagon!!! wow!

  11. ^^^^^^^^That wagon was built a few years ago as a "what-if?" Hudson woody wagon. As you all (hopefully!) know, Hudson did NOT build a factory woody or a wagon during the Stepdown years 1948 - 1954. It is an impressive build all the way!

The front mounted GMC blower, sidedrafts, and right hand drive was a factory option, wasn't it?

There is an old woman that lives a few miles from me that has a 1937 Terraplane pickup that her husband used to drive in local parades. It is in poor condition, someone sometime in the past sandblasted the body and put a light coat of primer on it. some of it is swiss cheese now, but it is about 90% complete. She contacted me about restoring it to, as she stated, "look cute". She lives in basically a shack for a house, and doesn't have much money, but refuses to sell it. She thinks her grandson will "someday" fix it up. I've tried to buy it as have several others, but she just throws another tarp over it which only traps moisture. Her truck, I guess she can do what she wants with it. I've talked with her kids and grandkids about it, but they all say it will stay where it is for now.

Here's an interesting picture of a 1934 Terraplane Commercial Car taken September 12th, 1934. It's a factory photo of a firefighter with equipment made by Biederman Motors of Cincinnati, Ohio.

  25. Where is this one today? Looks deceptively stock but is actually a radical custom when you study it.

I would like the story behind that one. A lot of work went into that ,
but to someone not familiar with step downs , they wouldn't notice.
I wonder if it was born a coupe?

Built this 34 for a guy who bought it as a restored stocker. M2 front end, 9" rear, 350-350 combo, PS PB, AC, tilt wheel, all the usual "street rod" mods. Beautiful body styling, all stock, didn't touch anything, except removing a continental kit.
