Any local folks have a bead roller they would like to practice with? I rather not buy one from Harbor Freight for such a small job, that and I have never used one. Just would like to put a few rolls in the lid of this tranny tunnel if possible.
I'll supply the beer!

Hey Dirty John, I just stumbled across your build thread. Looks like your project is coming along well. I understand staying with the 'glide. Stick cars are more fun to watch (and drive, I'm sure) but the PG is much less pricy for us poor boys. Hope you have enough time to get the '56 ready for the 2014 season. It would be cool to get together at the Meltdown.

 

Luckily the doors are already skinned in bead rolled aluminum. Going to use this to just do the lid on the tranny and whatever else pops up. I haven't received it yet but I'll post pics once its here.

Powerglide definitely makes sense in this case. If there were a stick shift class then I would do it, but unfortunately there just isn't.
I won't be making it to Meltdown John, but I will come to Oklahoma just as soon as it's together. Let me know when your thinking about coming to Noble etc and we can park together.
I think I'm going to race mostly locally for a while. I would love to watch Quain and company run each other though.
Maybe down the road we can plan a trip to run together up North.

I'm guessing cause they're squirrelly as shit,and a lot more of a handful to drive,making for some exciting moments for both drivers AND spectators.....

I really love the way you engineered that scoop assembly to work with the heavy engine setback,and had the presence of mind to think...."Hmmm....is my cherry picker gonna work with this thing in the road..?"
