Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. My first hot rod was a 47 Ford, my buddy and I put a Cadillac engine in it, that was a real learning experience. Next was a 54 Plymouth, same friend we put an Oldsmobile engine and 3 speed stick. since those learning years I've had many hot cars and have enjoyed them all. I now have a 37 Ford truck hot rod. I purchased the truck from a classic car dealer in Maryland and have made some improvements since then. Does anyone have any information on this hot rod? I'm trying to find out the paint code or what type of car was this color used. Also what type of master cylinder. Thanks everyone, it's great to be here.
Most professional automotive paint suppliers have color match/detecting cameras these days. If you can take a small painted panel w/ you (like a fuel door) or the whole vehicle, they should be able to match the paint. I'm not 100% sure how the process works w/ a custom color though, but it's worth a try.
Greg 37 Welcome aboard!! You will find a lot of great and smart people on the HAMB. I had a 51 f-1 ford painted a shade of green very close to yours. The paint was Caddy firemist green with a lot of metallic in it. I painted it in 1971 so look in a paint chip book for 50,60 or early 70. Your truck is bitchin nice score!! Well have a good one Don in Indiana.
Find a Color Match paint supply store. They have a computerized paint matching system that can match any color. Bring the truck or some part off the truck to get the match. Color Match supplies paint to auto body shops across the US.
Your right, they didn't have any information on the mechanical's . I'm trying to find out but so far not much luck. I tried calling the last owner on the title many times , no answer. I had open heart surgery in August and i'm limited to what I can lift etc. . otherwise I would have loved to build a hot rod.
