Projects Picked up my T roadster body today but not sure of the year

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Felipe Toltecatl, Dec 8, 2013.

  1. I picked my T roadster body today. I think it's 1922 or earlier? It has a small firewall. Can anybody identify what year it is??

I'm thinking maybe a 15-16. Those primative windshield posts are certainly not 17-22.

  3. Ahhhhh ok. Thanks!

Didn't the '22 and below have a smaller cowl area than that one?

Think you are correct '15-22. Don't know there is any difference. Great find.

The post are 15.Their rivited together instead of the two screws on the sides to hold the frame on.15 would have had a wooden firewall but it looks like it was a hot rod before and got switched to a metal one.The bead going to the firewall on a 15 goes the whole way to the firewall and is straight at the ends not round like the later ones. The cowl for a 15 where it bolts to the firewall has a rivited piece there and doesn`t have a notch in it for the radiator support rod.My Dad has a restored one.

  9. Thanks for all the replies fellas. I just happen to have a '23-25 firewall that I'm going to cut up to fit and weld in. The firewall it has now is just too far gone. Pretty sure it was a hot rod long ago.

  10. And yes the brackets on the side are definitely for the old lantern style cowl lights. I'm not gonna run those though.

I wouldn`t trash those brackets.Their worth more than the later ones to a restorer.

Nice project. Are you going to run a banger?
