Found the hood in the woods behind my house. Made the axle out of a fence post and the frame that holds the hood up out of an old bed frame that was laying out in the woods too. The wheels came from the old garage where I got the truck in my avatar. Rubber on them is like a rock!

Not mine Buck, sadly. The thread title just said 'yard art' but it's turned into 'your yard art'. This IS my yard, but the only art is actually a runner.

Somebody has spent a lot of time designing that and it is pretty cool. Your runner is much more practical too - except on a scorching hot day. :)

Here is mine. Spare frame, Cowl and cab back from separate cars, model T box, Jeep Cherokee rear axle, some scrap metal, ratchet straps and tack welds holding it all together.

^^ I thought big wheels and low pros weren't HAMB friendly. :D Seriously though very kool.

LOL! Never thought of that. The rear wheels are 32" cultivator parts while the front end is from an old manure spreader we found back in the woods.
Frame rails are 4x6 treated timbers and everything mounts on brackets.

It even steers with a tiller bar that attaches to the tongue sticking out of the grille so I can get it back to the garage for repair if necessary.

You wouldn`t believe how many times people have asked to buy it....

This is my other project for the yard. Mostly tractor parts.

I like it. All though I'd have to build a truck out of it. I've actually seen pics of it floating around the internet.

A little OT, but here's some pics of the yard art that the former owner of my shop had. Still have the RT66 piece out front. The last pic is of his little work bay out of the entire 2, 700 sq.ft. building. Which he built in the late 60's. It's been a Standard Oil Service Station, dealer ship, body shop, and art studio/storage.

I have seen some build threads on the HAMB that started out in much worse shape than a number of these yard art vehicles. :D Some of you guys have way too much time (and talent)on your hands...good for you!

  25. I may have posted thise but I like it.This sculpture was on the main street of our small town for about a year. The town features work by local artists and they are for sale. This one I believe the artist was asking 50K for it.WAY out of my price range!
Apparently he started with a pair of 57 Chevy front fenders and rear quarters and welded them together and made a mold from this.He then cast several examples and finished the with a sand paint to simulate stone and fused them together at various angles. The detail is really amazing.
