Was wondering if anyone has any pics of roadsters in these colors so I can get an idea of what it will look like on my 29 A roadster. Gotta make a decision ASAP as the car is at the sprayers and I'm still undecided.

Sorry but I'm sticking to period correct ford colors for a late 40's style build, thanks anyway

Check the cars listed under "Recent Repairs" on my website. There's a few shots of a 32 Vicky with the original maroon paint. www.ancientauto.com

  12. Had a customer last year wanted his OT Karman Ghia painted Viper Red
Told him that the color in PPG was over 600 bucks a gallon, thought he sh*t his pants when I told him that ! Anyway, he said he'd get the paint.
I had about 3/4 of a quart in PPG Concept left over, so I jambed it, he brings me that TCP crap in BC.
I look @ it and the color ain't even close, tell him that and he say's shoot it anyway.
I back tape the jambs, shoot the TCP crap and cover it with 3 coats of SPI clear.
He comes and looks @ it 2 days after it's shot and kinda likes it until I opened the doors, looked like day and night, he bit the bullet and had me re-shoot it in PPG.
    Very costly lesson for him.
He had well over 3500 dollars in materials and extra labor in it, than I had originally quoted.

That's why I asked about period correct colors, not period correct paint. ;-)

I dont know for sure what the color was but it reminded me of the color on my GMC. It was a garnett red from 89 or 90 s10.This car was at the HAMB drags and I loved it and the color......I heard it was for sale but I couldnt find the guy or I would have tried to trade with him !!

    Hey,

Before you deside on a colour choice I'd like to suggest, you see that colour, in daylight, on an actual vehicle. Colour chips, or reproduced photos of colours, arn't real good at showing a true example of a given colour choice:eek:

Too, you may wanna find a local source for your colour choice, over say, buying from overseas, as some coloures may not be legal for importation to your country:mad:

Agree Pimpin Paint, color chips aren't the greatest choice, and as far as pics go, well we all know how they can vary from screen to screen, etc, I've found a pic of what I like thanks to this topic and will take it in on my ipad to the sprayer for him to make a sample of for me ImageUploadedByTJJ1386571868.641401.jpg
Thanks to the poster of this pic, you've decided my color choice for me.
