Gentlemen, I need some help. The 1961 3 speed manual Unibody I just purchased a isn't shifting into gear quite like it should. I purchased a shift collar online a few days ago so that should be arriving any day now. But when I looked under the hood I noticed that the selector lever rubber bushing was in two pieces: Outside of Bushing: Inside of Bushing: I know that the Selector Lever Bushing & Insulator Kit for my year model is part # C3TZ7343A but the bushing/insulator kit on Melvin's Classic Ford Parts doesn't look like the bushing above: Am I missing something? Or are these the same? I just want to make sure that I am ordering the right part. Thanks!
Kinda hard to tell by the pics, but it looks like it might have split into two pieces? where the two halves meet, does it look like you have to turn them just the right way to make them fit together, like it is one piece that got broken in two?
My guess is that the new parts will work ok. Hopefully someone who has some experience with those exact parts will chime in...
I am just curious as to why the one I pulled off has a brass washer on top whereas the replacement one doesn't. Hopefully it will work.
