Looks killer, Nice job.. I'm really digging the Olds dash!! I did the full frame swap on my 49, it was easy as pie.. I'll definately follow along with this one

The easy side is made. The passenger side on the other hand is a multiple piece ordeal.

 

How did you make the dimple? You sure are a great floorpan maker.

 

This is most likely one of the worst pieces for me to have to make, but I am sure as hell going to try. My plan is to try and press a starter piece with a die and finish it by hand and leave enough for a overlap then weld and blend it to the inside which will have carpet eventually. I am going to leave just enough on the inside to meet the floor up to it like on the drive side. The die worked well enough for a starter piece and if I screw it up hand working it I can just press out another. Victory will be mine!!

 

Holy moly it worked! I still need to do some finishing up on it, but at least it is welded in.

 

Looks great. Stude pickups are my favorite!

Studebaker truck dashes have to be one of the most boring utilitarian styes ever. They are so far away from the styling of the rest of the truck, I guess it matched the rear of the truck though. What were the designers thinking, make some of the most rounded and plump cab and fender combinations and then seam to give up aft the rear fenders, "let's just cut it off straight and stick on some trailer lights". Anyway thanks, negative matt I can't wait to see it with all the trim and such, definitely takes it from farm truck to custom you will not regret the swap.
