the new tail lights we are going to french in , are custom 54 chevy items, I think they match the shape of the tops of the quater panels, fender skirts are original foxcraft merc items.I'll post some more later

Another visit to TJ and another smile on my face! Its like I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Miguel pulled the body off the frame. Turns out the cracker jack before me TACK welded the rear linkage in place and never finished it! DEATH BOX. Brake lines were weeded. Remounted has tank. Body work is almost complete. ALL NEW FLOORS FRONT TO BACK. New custom made structure boxes. Front clip painted. The frenched 54 Chevy tail lights look bitchin' and just work so well with the car. Im incredibly pleased and cant wait to get back down there and see more progress.

    Thanks MIGUEL!

Really happy with the tail lights, they seem to work well with the quater panels, the pontiac lights clashed with the rest of the car and were a big no no, you should never put earlier parts than the year of the car on a custom, I'll post some more later.

Just a quick little update. Frame was cleaned up and painted black. No more tack welds. Everything is structurally SOLID! And it looks brand new :D Bodywork is officially DONE! She goes into the paint booth this week. Im so pleased. Was contemplating a two tone, but after seeing how BEAUTFIUL the GOLD CANDY. I'm going one tone. Its going to be UNREAL...

WORK WORK WORK! Body is painted and its ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Frame is fresh. Miguel blew apart the front suspension, installed new tie rods, new bushing, new bolts, rebuilt the trailing arms in the rear end and painted everything. Car will be getting all new brake lines, new fuel line, new airlines for the bags... every single thing on the car will be fresh.

Besides the ridiculous awesomeness of the new paint, Miguel has informed he is going to have my car FINISHED just in time for GRAND NATIONAL ROADSTER SHOW 2014. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. The car has been entered and will be available for viewing in the Suede Palace if your keen to take a look...

Miguel - thanks so much everything. Your craftsmanship and honesty make you a true pleasure to work with.

The crunch is on , have to get it done for the suede palace, the candy gold was achieved with a copper metalic base coat , lime green pearl and a candy gold tint.
I feel with a mild custom, a wild paint job helps alot, this was the trend in the late fifties and early sixties. the upholstery will be mostly white with gold piping, narrow pleats, this also would be correct for a late fifties period custom.

I know it-s cool to lay frame , but not at 70 miles an hour on the freeway, when setting up your ride height, make sure the chasis will still roll with all the air out of the bags, this is easily achieved by installing some bump stops between the suspension and the frame

Why people put a chevy in these cars I don-t know, this 302 fits great and is very similar looking to a y/block, very little modifications are needed when setting one in , front motor mt-s are bolt on and rear tranny mt. is a piece of cake, and you-re not carving up your firewall , floorboards, or your frame. front suspension is stock except for the coils that were replace with bags. stock steering will be used and is another reason to use a 302 and fan clearance is stock , so you don-t have to use an electric fan.
