Projects chevy stepside kick panel

help me out if you can, I'm in the process of installing new kick panels in my 56 stepside truck along with getting the vents to work. I've bought new kick panels with speakers attached to use. Can you advise me as to how the cabling goes thru the kick panel and the trucks body to operate the vents? I do appreciate the help!!

 

I believe the cable goes behind the kick panel. I can take mine off without disturbing the vent cable.

 

there's a grommet in a hole, towards the firewall, that the cable goes thru. It connects to the vent door. I think the assembly manual would be helpful....mine is out in the shop right now....

Wow, I read this and went out to the pole barn to check. Sure enough, there is a grommet alongside the kick panel area. Sure appreciate your help. If you locate your manual, can you send me a few pics? Appreciate your help.
