When I was a young fella, guys kept them covered with hub caps or wheel covers because four lugs on the wheels was a dead giveaway to something wimpy under the hood. I however, am a fan of the simple four lug look, especially when combined with four spokes. Any other four lug fans on here, or am I the odd man out? --- Steve ---
I've got a set on my Ranchero! They cost me a case of Bud-light! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Had a set on my Ford Cortina wagon back in the day and have a set now waiting for my 62 Falcon Ranchero when it's ready.
Cool, when I'm at a cruise-in or car show, I have to check out the 60's compact cars to see if I can spot some cool 4 lug wheels on them. Guess I've got 4 lug fever bad. lol --- Steve ---
Im genrally not a fan of em on 60s back stuff but I could live with it for a while if thats what I had. I think they are kinda cool on the smaller, later cars like vegas, pintos etc. but thats just my .02
They totally made mine look better! The stock ones are so narrow! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Must not be too many 4 lug fans out here! I've had 6 four lug wheels with good 14" radial tires on local CL for FREE, and still no calls!
Nah, at least with my Falcons I really dig four lug wheels. It says "I bucked the trends and kept a six in my car". When the wagon came home, everybody assumed it was going to get a V8. Not even close! These things are sooooo light, and so responsive to steering input and such with a six, and get such good mileage, there just isn't any reason to go V8 with them. I have other cars to go REALLY fast in.
If I remember right, my two '52 Willys Areo Eagle H/T's had stock, 4 lug wheels on them. And the front hubs were the same as the Henry J's, 5 lug back then. pdq67
