I'll join in, here's mine. I've also had a 56 Mainline 4 door and a 34 Ford 4 door. Makes life easier when ya like loading her up for cruisin'
sorry for the basic question. (the whole American car thing is new to me), but, what is the gold gasser?
This is my favorite car. Its ben mine for 25+ years now. 4-doors was what was avalible when i buy this one here in sweden. Today the selection is better but this car have served me so well that this is the car i use as referense when i comparing my cars.
That is Dave Koffel's '48 Packard. It was always a hot contender at the Nationals. You can read a little more about it HERE: http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_1002_flintstone_flyers/
I brought this over from another thread. I bet more than a few over there miss the fact that this sweet Caddy is a four-door.
Heres mine on the salt. I got a lot of shit from my buddys for building a more door but it worked for me when the kids were young and it was cheep. It started as a 194 with a 3 speed then it was a 4 speed then disk brakes on the front then a 360 inch small block. I have had many miles of happy motoring in this thing. But now it sets waiting on me to finish the 509 big block install. I have been working on building headers got 3 tubes done in a year. Damn that sounds bad.Better get busy.
heres my 38 caddy , shell , thinking of slamming it , primer , late model truck chassis and drivetrain....
4-doors you got love them people might laugh at them but they are the first car that people will pile in to them to go any where
Sitting here going through this thread again. Don't know how I missed your car. I really like that roof. The paint on my car is original except for the roof....somewhere along the way it was repainted. The body paint is a little toasty from the Southwest sun but I really like the patina and it seems to bug people when I tell them its staying that way. Like I tell them...its my name on the title, and, that's why there's chocolate and vanilla.
Hi statesblue The Cresta still has the original I6 162 cu inch with 3 on the tree and 3.9-1 axle gears. Soon to have the later I6 202 cu inch with 4 speed overdrive gearbox and 3.45-1 axle gears, also got a triple SU carb setup to go on. Would love a small block chev in it but they are big bucks over here + although its about the same size as a Chevy 2 / Nova there is not much room for a small block / the frame rails have to be cut and the rear 2 spark plugs almost touch the steering box. This is my daily driver and with the price of our gas at $9.40 a gallon its got to be reasonably economical. Thanks Dave
