Projects Opinions on paint job

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hd1084, Nov 17, 2013.

  1. I'm soon going to be painting my coupe and have come up with two ideas.
These pics are not my car but photoshoped to get images of what I have in mind.

One idea is Hot Rod Matte Black with Hugger Orange scallops

Two would be an Off White with Hugger Orange scallops

Both would have Hugger Orange "Steelie" wheels.

    Give me your thoughts.....

Like the off white. Your Photoshop looks like a slight gray color which is cool also. Metallic in the Orange would make it pop.

White and orange. Maybe one of those frosty looking whites.

Loose the over cowl top orange either way. I like the black body better. Bob

Black, the grayish white looks more like primer.

I don"t think either way does anything but distract from a good looking car.

The grey with scallops gives it the 'just popped out the mold' look.

  20. I would paint it 1 color and ditch the scallops also.

I don't like scallops on a hoodless car, the lines are too broken up, scallops need to flow. Paint the whole car flake candy orange, orange not copper, throw on some dark grey pinstriping. If you're set on scallops, run a hood.

Hot rod black is way overdone. Try something different.

how about Ivory with orange scallops with mint green pinstripes around scallops and orange and mint green pinstripe designs on the trunk and top of cowl...lose the orange on the cowl top

  26. I am digging the scallops, but then again...I am partial to scallops. I can see either color combo working. I guess it depends on interior color and what attitude you want the car to have. Black says "bad ass", and the white says "tough, but cool".

  28. I've been thinking about this for a couple days.
The hood less 32 has a different look and can't hold scallops well, its too damn busy. And especially such a contrast of black and orange or white and orange.

I think These guys said the same thing. :):):)

  29. What about this style of a scallop instead of on and over the cowl ???

That looks like he crashed into a giant mashmellow.........I still say the candy green and gold would look great with the wide whites, maybe the OP can photoshop it up??
