Hot Rods This 55' Ford Gasser isn't a "Barn find", It's a SHELF find !!!!

I seen this on e bay. Just got one there myself, same year. Great car..

 

How'd you get it off the self?! Great find and history.

 

Wow, what a trip down memory lane this was ...
Thirty years ago, I knew a guy who had a very similar 55 Victoria ...
His was blue with flames over a tilt front end, straight axle, Gasser stance, radiused rear fender wells, and a blown small block Chevy sitting where the front seat used to be.
Every so often, he would get a wild hair and drive around town without the front end ... there was no visible engine :-o
His dad had a completely restored 55 Crown Victoria, and they used to show them together ....
Slight difference ;-)

All good stories have an ending, although i suspect this one will be more of a continuence. At least i hope theres more.

 

Anybody heard if this things back in action?......

Any body know what happened to this car..

 

Mystery solved. I have this gasser. I got it off ebay June 2011. Haven't done much with it yet but hope to have it going summer 2014. Hope to do some driving on street. It will have 390 with two fours and a C6 tranny. At 6'4" I would have hard time operating a clutch unless I move roll bar and seat back. I'll try to keep progress up to date.

Shelf? Thats nothin...Whats REALLY UNIQUE about this, is a thread on the HAMB with the word "gasser" in the title that ACTUALLY IS about a gasser!!

 

The car belongs to a fellow in my car club, Kustom Kings, I'll make sure he keeps everyone updated!

 

Get that bad boy back into shape !!!!!!!!
