Features The Definitive "MILD CUSTOM" Photo Thread....

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by Centurion9, Mar 31, 2011.

  1. I see what you mean now nitro.....but I still like the white oval I'm seeing way to much green on it and looks like every other 53 or should I say like mostly every other 53.

How about reshaping your "oval" into a Corvette cove? It's been done before, but it IS traditional.

  5. Gotcha!

Buick trim and hupcaps. Even kept the "bustle up" look from 1962...

  9. Now your talking! I like that will have to possibly look into doing that in the next few years. Currently working on a 64 comet villager wagon I want to get out for next summer. Thanks for the idea!!

  10. Finally able to find out a little information on this beautiful '57. I tracked down the current owner and he told me that it was rebuilt at Jerry's Rod & Custom, formally in Lake Havasu City. 350/350 combo, dropped spindles and blocks & painted "Misty Jade Green". He said that it was for sale but I didn't ask how much.

That is an exceptional '57. Subtle detail: He ironed out the fake louvers behind the headlights.

If a TH350 fits then a 200R4 will. Just need to move the trans mount back about 2". I love 200's!

350 won't fit either, it's a 394 with a jetaway. there's no tunnel room and they didn't even use a rear mount, it has a center front engine mount and two rear engine mounts and the trans just hung there. I have to raise the tunnel.

I've seen several different versions of the skirts on these cars: The first look to be factory and are very thin, the second are the big "bubble" skirts, and the third are like the ones on this car. What are these and who makes 'em?

  26. Those are another version of a factory skirt I believe. I had a set like this and the shorter set for my 54
