As a very young kid, and long before I ever saw a 1:1 hot rod in the flesh, these did it for me. Gary

I almost forgot about this one...

I was 15 and at a car show at Don Garlet's and was walking by a full fendered bright red model A coupe, nothing special really, and with all the stock trimings, looked more like a street rod than a hot rod, then I noticed something odd, the flathead had 6 spark plugs on one head!!! Now most of you are familiar with Commander Cody's version of Hot Rod Lincoln, but I grew up (in the 80's) spinning my dad's 45's from the 50's so the first version of Hot Rod Lincoln that knew was Charlie Ryan's minor hit from around '57. Well all I had was the vinyl 45 and had no idea the car was real. But sure as shit, there sat Charlie Ryan next to Hot Rod Lincoln with vintage build pictures from the 50's. The one that stuck out the most was a picture where him and some buddies had flipped the entire body of a '40s Lincoln off the frame and onto it's side to get to the v-12.

v-12,v-12,v-12 if I say it enough times will one appear in my garage? I'm not picky, flathead or allison either will work!

I would have to say that as a kid when Bruce Olsen drove past it changed my life. This is one bad hot rod.

Chuck R, I thought of mention your car ( copshop coupe), but had enough cars on my list with dirt track tires. ET wheels are even better than halibrands.

    Nahhh,
That Impala was raked the wrong way!
The ass end should be in the weeds, not the front.

Oh, and the 55 Chevy that some guy managed to squeeze around a Merlin V-12. THAT is cool.

Here's 4 of my favorites. Each one of these cars has given me ideas and made a huge impression on me when it comes to my roadster that I'm building. Live Wire and the Bad News coupe are probably the only cars out there I wouldn't change anything on. I love the craftsmanship in all these cars especially the technology behind the Magicar with it's use of a separate chassis for the motor/rearend. Way before it's time and the car looked amazing as well. The Respect Tradition roadster is one of my favorite cars from HHR. I love the way Troy and the crew section their bodies and modify their frames to get the cars lower.
