Features Hamb 28-29 Club

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by OoltewahSpeedShop, Dec 22, 2012.

  1. Really dig '28-'29s. Here, hiding behind his '32 project is my buddy Tim's (T&A Flathead) A sedan that I'm trying to convince him to sell to me.

  2. And a couple of images I stole off the HAMB 'cause I liked 'em.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about them too. They are growing on me though. :)

I really like 28/29s, especially roadsters on 32 rails.
Here's my 29 Sport Coupe, which I found upstate and purchased from it's second owner, after years of sitting.
While Sport Coupes have never been my favorite body style, I'm starting to really like it and appreciate it's uniqueness and it's more formal look.
I'm going to keep the 4-banger and drive it for a while before deciding if fenders will stay or go.

  9. Hey Oolte... and Beatnik..., Sport Coupes are really cool. Different and kinda uncommon. When I was 17 (in 1975) a cousin was restoring a '29 SC and let me drive it around Belton, TX during a family vacation. I was really impressed with how well the banger ran and on the way back to Kansas City I was drawing '29s, dumped with steelies and five-spokes. Some of them actually looked like cars!

  15. That is freakin' cool! Congrats! What's the history behind it? Looks like it might have been an East Coast-influenced build.

We're doing some searching on the history. It was in Michigan, Penn, and New York for a while. Not sure about before that. When the history reveals itself, I'll post what we turn up.

There's an El Mirage timing tag on the dash from 1947, so there's gotta be a story behind it... :D
