Last fall before the snow started flying I dug this body out of my grandparents farm grove where it had been sitting for 50 + years. It is in rough shape but it will be something someday. Ever since I was a little kid I thought that was a cool car, but nobody in my family is really car guys. I finally got it and dug it out last fall and have been trying to save up some money to complete this project. It sat in my storage unit when I got it home, some things happened in my life and I ended up relocating to Idaho and working with the forest service. The car was still back in Iowa and I was thinking I wasnt going to get it done. With the help of some really nice people on here I found someone willing to do some body reinforcement and patch panels, and build a frame. A couple of guys from Omaha are working on it now, Dragsled on here (Tim is his real name) and his co worker Garrett.I know Garrett is a hell of a welder and is just getting into the custom car side of things. His business is Creations by Day. Here are the pictures of the car in the ground before I dug it out,and the pictures from Tim doing some work on it.
Good luck to you. Here's my 27 original and finished. I had a bit more to work with but you can build a cool car. Be sure to put a Mopar engine in it
Thanks! thats a good looking car! Forgot to mention, I have a slant 6 with a four speed for it, so yeah kept with the mopar!
Good to see you got the pics, I straighted up the pass side quarter as best I could for now, so we could tweak it back in shape to replace the floor pans , If anyone has any passenger side quarters or pieces, PM me or Brady , the ones on it are pretty rough to say the least,, it would be easier to hang another one on , My buddy Bob (T27owner) thought T quarters might be pretty close to use for parts, Any thoughts on this from anyone?,, Tim Jones
Thanks, I Talked to bob again today , he said the same thing , I must of misunderstood him the other day, Shouldn't be to bad to make one though, Tim Jones
Thanks everyone!! Yeah Tim I had heard that a t would fit, but I guess by looking at pictures that is not going to work. It should be doable to make from scratch though?
Vintage Automotive in Mountain Home Idaho had the back half of one of those coupes a couple of years ago, don't know if he still has it. Worth checking.
I called today and they sold the rest of the body earlier this year, he said he had it forever and just sold it this year. Figures!
I have some "24 Fenders fronts and rears, they have been chemically dipped and they are bout perfect..
Brady has fronts and rears for the car, The fronts are pretty rough tho so I'll have to do some fine tuneing on them, I'll keep working on him about the front axle,,,,Tim Jones
Thank you Mr unit and thank you Bert. Thank God you didn't dump an LS1 in it and claim you've built the greatest vehicle since "hot" and "rod" became one word.
Brady's soon to be frame, picked up the iron for the frame and sheet metal for the body and floor this week,, Tim Jones
We finally got a chance to cut the frame side pieces, going to cut the pass rear quarter off to start rebuilding it this week , kinda gave up trying to find another to replace it with,,,,Tim Jones
Looks great so far, I hope the quarter rebuilding goes alright. Kinda sucks we couldnt find one, didnt think they would be so tough to find!
Today Garrett came in and got some of the ends capped and the rear section of Brady's frame welded, Came out really nice,,, Hope you guys don't mind lots of pics , Just trying to keep Brady updated as we go,,, Tim Jones
Glad you like it Brady , were gonna start on the quarter this week, Garrett's one hell of a welder,, Tim Jones
