That is pretty cool... I'm sure I'm wrong, but perhaps its Canadian- like the aluminum V8 heads they made?
I have seen the combustion chamber before but can't put my finger on where. A good question fordbarn.com. Charlie Stephens
Head was made by Gary Silverstien or Silberstien. Made in the 1970's. A friend of his made up the "Ford" logo and added it to the pattern. The chamber is a pickup of Harley Davidison's attempt at turbulence for cycle engines. No known test results other than it is was made in a couple CR probably 6 and 7:1. Early this century a stash of un-machined heads were found in CA after Silberstien's death. It seems some were sold un-machined and some were machined. That is all I know. I do have a collection of photos of these. None of Mr. Silberstiein. I spoke with Mr. Silberstien and he thought he made about 80 units over a few years. Castings were 356 aluminum. I was told its a nice conversation piece ........ And to lay the gasket on there and see what I notice.. Looks like it works to me Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
i would run it what the heck right i like things that look stock..ish paint it green and beat everyone at the "stock class" hill climbs tk
Neat looking head and it looks like higher compression than stock. I'd run it in a heartbeat...........for no other reason than to keep people guessing as to it's origin. Frank
You might try asking the guys on the monthly banger meet. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=842774
I'm liking that. I'd certainly give it a try if you want to post it over... Cheers for the background Charlie - you need to post more often than once every three years!
I didn't see this post. Explains a lot about that funky combustion chamber! My big question is how well does this head work?
