Event Coverage SEMA Coverage?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Harrison, Nov 7, 2013.

  1. Surprised no one has posted any coverage of this year's show. Am I missing it somewhere? It's always interesting to see what's new - even if I don't like it all.

    TIA, JH

That day glo orange 34 has to be seen in person ! My I phone couldn't capture the brilliance of the paint as with many of the bitchin cars that are on display. Much eye candy ! And then the models are mighty fine too !

That rocket wheel does look very cool. Hopefully they will be 16" and 18". Maybe like their other wheels, they will be reasonably priced.

  11. Looks like the sidewall says 16"?!

That Buick powered '34 coupe is bad to the bone.

What kind of tire is on that Rocket Wheel?

As far as traditional, HAMB-style style rods and customs go, the picking was indeed slim this year. And getting worse each year. I may post some later if I can scare up enough good ones.

Roger that. Hate to say it, but I'm hoping for a bolt-on version, perhaps with the same cover but a faux knock-off. Hope it is light, too. Gary

I think he said the rocket wheel was initially 16 x 5, bolt on. $400 each if I heard correctly.

I'm guessin' you are referring to hotrodladycrusr (Marketplace Sale Rep at AUTOWEEK)?

Denise has been reporting via her fb logo.jpg page ... the majority of her pics are O/T for a "Traditional Hot Rod & Custom" forum ... but here's a few that might be of interest to the H.A.M.B. community:

  28. "Introducing the Rocket Fire and Rocket Solid! Our latest additions to the Rocket Racing Wheels arsenal re-create the iconic Indy Roadster wheels of the 1950’s and 1960’s. Much like the original six-pin drive wheel, the Rocket Fire features a ribbed design, while the Rocket Solid is a smooth wheel. Both racing styles, mimic the original pressure mounted plate and knockoff attachment but with the capability of a 5-lug bolt on. The Rocket Fire and Rocket Solid will soon be available in 16x5 in 5x4.50, 5x4.75 and 5x5.50 bolt patterns. The 16x5 fits most ALL 16" diameter Vintage Tire sizes from 500-16 up to 750-16. Choose from a variety of finishes! The Rocket Fire will be available in Gray Painted Center with Machined Rib and Outer, and Full As Cast finish, as well as our custom RPM7 powder coat. The Rocket Solid will be available in Full Machined, Full As Cast finishes, and custom RPM7 powder coat. Rocket Fire and Rocket Solid wheels are expected to hit Rocket Racing Wheels warehouses Spring of 2014"
