Projects 1934 ford 5W left for dead

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Chris, Nov 11, 2013.

  1. A good friend of mine told me about this coupe nestled in with a bunch of junk. It's tough, I mean...I dunno what this car did to deserve such fate, but after looking at it and figuring out what else went with it...a deal was struck and with the help of good friends we carried it out of the brush and junk where it had been left for the past 40 years.
This poor ol car is a 34. It's been cut up, stripped, dumped....but what is left is decent I guess. The quarters and floor are actually in good shape. It came with the roof off an old stock car, a decent deck lid, two coupe doors, a complete cowl/dash/windshield frame and an extra cowl with a great windshield surround. Between all these scraps there's a 5W there. It just needs the time, love and talent to put it together. I've wanted a 33-34 coupe for some time, and have collected a lot of parts for one. I have a nice rolling frame, dropped axle, steering box gauges, door latches, wheels and some other junk.
I don't have a set plan or goal, it's just gonna sit for a bit until I have the room to start pecking away at it.

    God bless Model 40's

Very cool! I love seeing stuff like this saved. It gives me hope that my clapped out roadster body might actually see the road some day.

That looks 100% better than how a lot of them start. Looks like a pretty straight forward build and with that original floor you really scrored. Good luck

Great score Chris. It's hard for me to believe the makings of a 34 coupe were still left out waiting to be discovered. Incredible.
You've got your work cut out for you. Hopefully you can pick up where you left off with your last 5 window...

  23. Chris,I'm looking forward to watching this one come back from the dead,,good save. HRP

Good job on rescuing that old 34 coupe. It will be a lot of work to put together but well worth it. Look forward to seeing your progress.

Great find! Definitely a builder, there are excellent parts on that body that woulda rusted to nothing in the rust belt. Fixing something beat up is much easier than repairing rusted out hulks.
