After 3 long weekends of intensive labor I'm finally ready for another up date I'm very pleased with my progress, hope ya'll enjoy. with it fully welded in I then started to remove some dents on the back part of the lid I'm very pleased with how the roof turned out considering the fact the I put the crown in myself. I feel good to get the last of the major rust fixed now I just have a few little thing to do to the body then I can tackle the frame, more updates coming soon Thanks , Bob
Made some good progress the past few weeks. I made the decision to buy a frame already built since I somewhat have a deadline to keep, me an a buddy of mine have been planning a trip to Bonneville for over a year now I hope to take the 32, we'll see how it goes. Started with a frame from JW, boxed with front a rear cross member. I'll be adding a model a rear cross, member an a x member. I'll be using a Chevy 283 not quite sure what year I'm guessing early 60s Moving on to the x member It was quite a challenge cause the frame was already boxed but I came up with a simple solution to get all the angles perfect. Basically I just made a template that doubled the width of the frame an scribed a line on the x member Made the cut a everything fit really good Tacked everything in to place
Just to give ya'll an idea how is going to look rolling I hope to have the motor in it an have a roller soon!
Somebody sell this man some doors. Dang, that's looking good... thanks for posting.. helluva job so far
Ha ha actually I,v had lots of leads on doors from fellow HAMBers I don't know why but I just have it in my head that I'm going to build doors from scratch, maybe just to see if I can thanks for the kind words.
Awesome! I've got a '34 Cab that's stashed for a future project, I really like the direction your going!
Thanks I'm still new to tig an I still have a lot to learn, but I cant wait till the day I can lay down a perfect bead!
Glad I found this thread. Look forward to following you work and the build. Pretty inspirational. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The 28-29 truck doors you made are awesome, if I can get my doors to look half as good as yours I'll be happy
I have just a little update with the colder weather progress has been slow going, the week before thanks giving we got 5 inches of snow.I haven't done to much work to the 32 just been buying parts I got a new walker radiator an a 3x2 intake, Johnny Beavers in Plainview TX is building the carbs right now I should have them by the end of the week. I got the motor mounts welded in place It was about time for a new mig welder and I have had my eye on this one for a while. That's all for now more updates coming soon thanks.
Thought I would give yall a little update on my truck, I have mostly been gathering parts to get the chassis rolling. I came across a set of new/used Excelsior tires that have never been driven on for a good deal, the rear a 7.50/16in and fronts 5.00/16. Got the carbs back from Johnny Beavers an the look awesome. I also got my motor painted. I plan to take lots road trips in this truck so I'll be using a t-5 transmission Nothing fancy on the rear suspension. I got the ladder bars from RJays speed shop, they do a top notch job. I then started to fit and tack weld everything in place I just realized I never took pictures of the rearend but ill get some posted soon. Thanks for following along more updates coming soon!
