Features Pre World War 2 Junior Midget

    I purchased this midget over the weekend. I would appreciate any info that anyone could give me on this item. It was represented as an item made in California prior to World War 2, in the 30's and used as a race car post war.

    I should also mention that it is powered by a two horsepower briggs engine.

    It's a Dichotomy


    What is the wheelbase and the tire size?

    Am I seeing a coil spring front end?

    A 2HP Briggs???

    Metal body???

    When I saw the thread title, I thought you may have one of these. They were built in 1939-40, and were a spec racer.

    My uncle built me one about like that in the late fourty's. He got the plans from a popular mechanics mag. I think they called them quarter midgets at the time. I still have the car and my grandsons drive the hell out of it. when he built it it had a 6 horse briggs with a gear reduction. Hope this helps.

    Great looking body, can you post photos of the axles and wheels? As others have mentioned these were built from plans in Popular Mechanix magazine. Bob
