That came from Gary Cochran (original owner /driver) and his wife Marie. Such a good time and still here. Not leaving till Monday. Even the GMCgot complimented a lot.

Here's a couple pics...ones at the double tree hotel where new restorations get to do their thing. The other is the parade before the cackle fest ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1382368659.601131.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1382368679.050074.jpg

  8. We were behind you guys in line for the Cacklefest, and I kept walking up and checking out the car. That thing is bitchin! It sounded so freakin cool.

We wound up pushing the first car out (Tocco, Harper, and Garten Fuel Altered) and then hauled ass back into line and pushed the Schrank Brother's B/Fuel dragster. They were short on push trucks, and we were some busy dudes. We were in the slammed brown '49 Chevy truck with the "Fuel Altereds Forever" push bar.

Man thanks for the compliments on the car, we had a great time restoring it! I liked your truck a lot and was our first time presenting the car. This weekend was super bitchin.

And Gary sent the ad to me yesterday. When we went to visit him a while back a lot of this he couldn't remember if he had it or not. I think getting him back in the car sparked interest...maybe it's like being a kid and finding that favorite toy again.... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1383491237.415889.jpg
This pic was courtesy of Larry Sporlein of "VC RIDES". He does photography on the side of local car events. This was after Gary popped out of the car. This was an emotional moment for him...actually all of us.

A its amaising that we still get asked "why does one want to restore an old racecar when its not even yours"

That is no lie. I got asked that question a lot during this process and after I told the story that led up to cackle fest and the tears running down Gary's face when he got out of the car, it made sense to all of them. The look in garys eyes when he asked me through his fire mask with his eyes slightly welled up with tears, "are you nervous?" I said no, we have the right guy driving this thing. Who says there is no such thing as a time machine....best time I ever had.
