  3. Wheels, tires and stance would make a big difference.

You need yours to look more like this. Basically lower the stance, change the tire wheel combo and put it in one color, preferably black. These cars were cool right off the factory floor and realy only need to be lower in order to be made right. If the tires end up rubbing somewhere then you just need to make further modifications to address that. As it sits I think yours is a little too busy and is suffering from an identity crisis. The good news is it looks like you have a super solid car to start with and only need to do a little refining to make it damn nice. Disclaimer: This is my opinion which is worth what it just cost you but you did ask for.

I talked to Danny about his '39 above so I could achieve a similar result:

Man, I can't believe I'm thinking this, (I'm usually part of the single color and steel wheels crowd) but if I had to work around that paint scheme which looks to be in fairly good shape, I think I would shoot for early to mid sixties kinda stuff. Drop both the front and rear to get the stance you show in your other post, correct the rear end which could be as easy as just redrilling the perch bolt locations if it is on parallel leafs, then go for a set of Radar tri rid wheels in full polish (narrow, say 5" on the front and 6" on the rear to help with fender clearance) with a very narrow white wall in a 165X15 and 225 or 235X15. I think it would really pop and make the semi-panel paint deal work pretty well. this would also work well with say a chrome reverse type wheel as well. Just don't go WIDE white with either of these combos...

  10. I agree with the above, but I'm still not a fan of the paint (my opinion) despite it being nice. How about this?

Here's my 39 along with the 37 I built and sold several years ago. They share the same chassis setup with each other along with the same engine/trans/and rear end. Currently I'm building my own grill for the 39 and paint will come sometime this winter or early spring.

Here's mine, in progress, and actually hasn't moved on much since this photo, about 18 months ago! Basically all stock, dropped I beam, pancaked rear cross member. There's not a lot to do, but it seems to be taking me a long time!

I'm not sure this one qualifies as done right but it is interesting.
