44,000 miles and not much has changed since Mercury pushed this one off the line in 1949,

It is one of the actual/real survivors

Drug this out of a barn in 2009... Just got it running. Someone tried to make it go fast(er) it had lots of Model B goodies on the engine. Wish I had the room and money for the Chrysler next to it back then. I think that went to Canada.

  7. My 54 Ford Semi-Kustom. It's an old Downriver car, started by some of the founding memebers of the Taylor Rod and Kustom club. My favorite part is that Mike Gator Gaydos had a hand in it. Had it in Autorama a couple years ago and a guy brought some old pics of it for me. I've wanted to sell it or trade it over the years, hasn't happened. I hope to finish it one day.

When I bought it in 2003 it looked like this.

Now it looks pretty good I think. Same motor, trans, paint and interior.

    Here's mine...

The only "new" updates are; Reversed rear Merc wheels with radials, new top insert, and Drake gear knob, pedals, and rubber floor mat., and a new master cylinder with rebuilt brakes all the way around.

Here's the link to the story of how I got the car. Also on page 5 of the thread, the story of how I was fortunate enough to locate, and talk to the guy who built it in the late 50's, learn it's history, and get the list of owners and how they got the car from then 'till now.

Not really " hot rod" with a chop/ channel but runs a hopped up flatty. Very much a " survivor" and Still driven regularly by the 85 yr old builder in Edmonton who built it all in 54.
