Looks like a fantastic build underway there! I like where this one's going with the frame cut and all - and yes that workshop is way too clean! Subscribed.

  2. Ya man! You made me feel bad about myself! Haha The project looks good.

Sounds good ! Same goes to you budd! The main reason the garage is that spotless is Dad makes sure I clean up all the time and organize it after I'm Done.

    Thanks man!
I am very sorry I've been busy with school and getting things ready for winter like cutting wood so we can work in a warm shop. So this last week all I've got to do was look at it.

So here is the 1959 Ford 9". Just a few shots of my first initial mock up seeing how things looked and would have to be done. First cut the frame in front of the rear xmember and figured out the height of what my new rear xmember would have to be places and set the Z. Its a not so HAMB friendly set up but it will do the job for me and help me set my ride heights and get some traction!
The initial plan is to have the rectangular tubing for a rear member with pockets in it for my 68 Corvair front springs to be mounted on the tubes of the rearend. (later pictures to come of the rearend) It will have adjustable rear weight jacks to set my height. I am also doing a Triangulated four bar suspension with the lower bars being 35-36 Ford rear wishbones and the uppers along with most of my rear suspension wont be visible unless you crawl underneath or jack it up. It will make more sense as I post more pictures.

Rearend with spring pads along with the shock, lower bar and bumper bracket made off of the old leaf spring pad.
along with my bobbed 35-36 rear wishbones for my lower arms.

Welcome to Model A Coupe World Darrin! "60's style Coupes have been my favorite since the '60's, I built mine 28 years ago.
I'm originally from Eastern Iowa and we would spend the weekends looking and finding old tin, great memories.
I'm looking forward to following along with you and see how your '60's style Coupe turns out.

We then finished making mounts for the rear wishbones on the bottom of the triangulated 4bar suspension and also welded up the Z and final adjustments to the rear cross member. Along with that we made the upper bars and the mounts for the rearend and frame for those. The upper bars we made bungs as similar as we could to the wishbone bungs from speedway. We then went to the front cross member and finished it up and welded it all in and removed the rivets, prepared the front to be boxed later, and made the spring mount. All I did their was took a block of 5/8" thick steel to fit inside the cross member and drilled and tapped two holes in front and behind the cross member and two holes underneath tapped for set screws to make sure the spring is tight against topside of the cross member.

Our next move was to create a new subfloor frame for the car while we were channeling the body 4" over the frame. My dad came up with most of the designing and thought process of what to do when making the subfloor with the channel. We used 1"X2" Rectangular tubing and some flat steel for the sides that he bent to fit the cowl, quarters and the new door sill's. While we did this we tried to square up the body as much as possible. Along with that we finally got to set the doors on with the hinges finally. Even though we got all of that done we realized once we mocked up the 327 and 4 speed that one of the cross floor braces was in the way of the shifter mount area on the transmission so that will soon be adjusted and fixed!

You do good work and thanks for the good pictures. You inspire me to get off my butt so some whipper snapper doesn't end up building my roadster.

I haven't had much time to post on here with updates and things...
car looks like it does in my avatar..
Got my gas tank done started running fuel lines and brake lines so I can drill and tap holes in the frame for the clips to hold the lines. then I can finish out the chassis and get the 327 running then it will be time to start the patch panels and body work. Last year and half or so have been super busy with working overtime, putting on our car show, buying and getting my 1962 Impala as a dependable driver also my big problem of buying all the old speed equipment I can. Hoping to be able to drive the thing at least by August 27 this year even if the body still looks shitty. then over winter get the rest of it done! hopefully I won't be getting any curveballs the sidetrack me from getting it done.
@-Brent- whats your user name on Instagram?
Also if I catch some time ill post pictures of updates to the car and to my growing collection of crap to show everyone on here that don't have Instagram.

Alright guys, now I have had a lil time to gather up all the photos over the last few busy busy busy years. It has taken roughly 6 years to get to this point on the car but I'm finally enjoying the coupe and driving it (if you follow on ig you already know). But, here is the 327 while I was building it after school back in high school/community college. It was given to me as a graduation gift by our old friend from North Liberty, Ia. who has since passed away. Also pictured is the empty mock up Muncie 4 speed and the first 6x2 set up I bought before I even got the coupe. (Changed my mind on the intake about a year before the car was on the road)
