I figure it's time to put this all in one place...

Picked up a Tudor project about a month ago.
Typical rusty rockers and front floors but, I lucked out that is came with a replacement aluminum front floor that almost fits.
Stuck stock flathead.. I guess I need to beg Speedy Canuck to sell me the one he has..

The trans shifts good and the clutch works nice.

Some jerk cut out the dash..

The front fenders are pretty crusty and I might be looking for better ones soon.
But, maybe I'll find different headlights and grill for it.

Already picked up some used 6.00 x 16" Firestones to roll it around on.

    So, down to it...
Real low in the rear taildragger style with a raised rear crossmember and reversed eye spring and a reversed eye front spring to get it sitting proper.
Full caps out front and skirts in the back and maybe different trim.
Taillights moved or changed or maybe put in the bumperettes.
Just pure and simple to start.

Then after a few years on the road we'll do this,

    Don't mind the rough photoshop...

We were gonna change the tail lights on our 41 but since they look different than most we kept them stock because----they're different!

They're not terrible by any means. They just don't follow any of the lines running down the side of the car.

Those rear fenders will be getting molded on later too.

  4. I like the sound of this, so that's two cool projects to follow. I have the same horn button on my T and now I know what it came from. JW :)

  5. You're a glutton for punishment, I can relate  I'm looking forward to seeing what you do to this one.

I found a nice set of rear fenders for mine. My old ones aren't fantastic, but might be in better shape than yours. If you need 'em let me know.

    Good luck with the build.

    Thanks fellas.

I gotta say, the rear fenders on it are pretty damn good.
just a few small dents and a couple of cracks on the bottom edge ar the back and thats it. Theres still original black paint under that brushed on grey crap.

The front fenders are a different story... I think I've got a good lead on better later ones though.

The rust in the lower cowl is the roughest spot on the whole car and if it doesn't pour rain all weekend I'll post a bunch of pics of it getting fixed.

  7. Is that chipped paint along the top of the fender beside the gas door? I thought it was rust perforation.

I bought my rear fenders out of the classifieds here before I took possession of my car. Didn't buy the front fenders and I'm kicking myself. Should have bought the whole damn parts car. Long gone now.

    Just chipped house paint.

There are some front fender parts/pieces for sale on Kijiji down your way right now.

I bought mine already painted yeller. Didn't care for it but the car seems to get a lot of attention and is fun to drive. SBC and a clip. Nova rear. It's really a Chevy in descuise.
Actually traded even up for a Mary Kay pink 49 Ford coupe.:( And I wasn't even drunk or on drugs for either trade.

  10. Thanks for the heads up.

  11. First time I've seen this thread. Cool little custom. Should be lots of fun.

Tight deadline for the wedding though!

It's going to be a fun car to bomb around in for sure!

Looks like it was last on the road in the early 70's or so down in Alabama.
It's still got the George Wallace campaign sticker on the front window from 1968..

Got rained out for most of the weekend but I got a little done,

  14. You are really making me want to get started on mine.

What are your plans for your dash? I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do a different/custom dash or not.

Hey NortonG. Here's one for you. And it's already done.
They only want 65 grand for it.

If we ever get a dry weekend again I'll get more work done on this thing.
As for the dash, I really like the stock one and I think I'll be needing to track down another stock one.

Torchie, I dig that one and I have some pictures of it saved.

Yeah I dig it too NortonG and although I really like quads I am not sure that I am sold on quads for this one. But I wouldn't kick it out of the garage for leaking oil......

Those aluminum removeable floor pans aren't necessarily replacement pieces as they are fairly common on 46-47 Ford cars which is what they were made for...what else did Ford have to do with all that B24 Liberator body skin the Feds stuck them with when the war ended? That's right, use it until it is gone.

We'll I've got to thank Speedy Canuck for selling me his flathead.

At least I'll be able to have some fun and get it running while it's raining outside..

  21. Jokes on you, I took all the connecting rods out.

But in all seriousness, I should thank you for buying it. Frees up cash and valuable space for me. Now get it running!

  22. Right on. Glad that flatty went from one good home to another.
