Hello all.... Going to pick up a 47 Plymouth special deluxe sedan tomorrow. Really appreciate the resources available on this site. It has influenced my decision for picking this particular ride for a project. It will be a family project as I have two young sons that want to help and participate (yeah right, at least until we sand something). It has been a while since I have gotten busy on a resto/project as I was in the Army for a few decades but am back and settled with a shop now! Thanks for all that I've gleaned so far and for all the helpful opinions to follow. Pics tomorrow from the trip to get the '47 P15. Best, -Ed
Hi Hemi, Based on my readings... (mostly here!) 1. Rustyhope disc conversion 2. fatman steering kit and a fatman sb LA mounting kit (almost forgot the shock relocation, grabbing that kit as well) 3. Possibly a dakota/durango rear for disks on the back 4. My buddy has a 70-ish 318 and 727 laying around I can get for a song to use as a powerplant. way cheaper than I can rebuild the 218 5. Lower the front some to give it a stance. Don't think I'll be going with drop spindles (yet) maybe a spring chop??????? other than that I believe we'll try to stay kind of original.... nothing too fancy inside or body wise as the car is mostly complete, in need of total resto but complete.
Thanks guys! Farmer that is some build you have there! Hi death, thanks for the link! Started a project thread in "traditionally styled customs" I think that's the right place.... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Welcome Ed, from Central VA! Like the doors, my grandfather had the same car. Pics worked fine for me.
Hi Xwing, hi Bruce, I think I have it sorted. Started a project thread in "traditionally styled" think that's the correct place as I intend on using a late model powerplant. And I can see the pictures.... Thanks for the welcome! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The doors are great! My folks had an old Lincoln with suicides.... Fascinated me as a kid. Hope my boys are captivated by it... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
