Man I think it looks awesome, I had to take a little break from mine but will be getting after it soon. I had to do some welding on the frame but here's where I'm at now. Can't wait to start going back together with this.

No unfortunately. If I had my pick it would be a/c over the power steering tho. How much did you drop the rear end?

Wow, that's a big drop. Like the way it sits. I'm still undecided how much to take it down. But for now I just plan to lower it, leave some chrome off and most of the rest may just be mechanical, like upgrading the tranny. I've changed my mind about a thousand times do far so who knows what it will end up being when it's done lol.

I would love to chop it but that's a bit out of my skills. If you find a bag kit that would work please let me know. It's on my wish list.

    yea, i definitely will!
the way ive chopped it (in my head) is 4.5" in the back post, 4" in the front and eliminate the center posts and the tops of the doors. it will require quite alot of bracing in the b-pillar door jam area, but i think it would look killer. Especially with that forward slanted C pillar.

Cool! I'm glad to see people actually do stuff with these cars! I've wanted a '54 Chrysler Saratoga/Newport or an Imperial for a while.. They seem to go cheap enough, and I always thought they'd make an awesome mild custom/taildragger! Keep it up!

Glad to see them too. Almost no customs online to look at which makes them that much better.

Thanks Chris!! She's coming along slow but sure. Debating on whether or not to throw some lake pipes on it or not. Some chrome reverse wheels are in the plans as well...

Lake pipes would be killer! I yanked the rear suspension out of mine last night. Going to try to finish sanding and maybe paint the chassis this weekend. Keep the pics coming, keeps me motivated lol

Keep at it! I'm doing my best. With a child on the way, it's kind of difficult, but I'm doing what I can, when I can!

i've got a pair of mint 53 chrysler 2-dr. sedan doors, if you're going to do a 4dr to 2-dr conversion.

I am really digging this build thread! I think it looks totally bitchin so keep up the work, man!!!

Maybe it is just me and I am really used to seeing the insanely wide hemis in these cars, but that SBC just looks sooooo tiny in that gigantic engine bay. You could climb in there and take a nap between the valve cover and inner fender...

I hear ya. I have been back and forth on building the hemi, or doing a conversion. But it's matching numbers, I'm going to keep the hemi in it and might throw a different tranny behind it.

Mr. Chevrolet, I may take you up on that! We shall see what the winter has in store. I do plan on chopping and hard topping this beast, but I dunno.

Hendo, thanks a lot man!! And yea, I could take a nap in there, but why would I do that when there's a bedroom sized back seat?!

Chris, I've thought about using the Hemi I have several times, but I do plan on driving this ALOT. I had the running small block/trans already and really didn't want to foot the bill for the rebuild on the 331! Plus, I wouldn't be able to leave well enough alone and I'd have to go way over the top with it. Sooo, I'll save that for the Model A pickup show rod in the works.....

I would love to do the same with the hemi, even thought about shoving a late model hemi in it, would be cheaper than rebuilding this one

Leave it a 4dr for sure, I like 2drs and 4drs and have both but doing a 4dr to 2r conversion is super lame in my opinion , if you want a 2dr then buy one instead of going out and butchering up a good original just to make a fake one 2 door. 2drs are way over rated anyway.
