I've always wanted and have been looking for some time for a 32-34 Ford, this week my dream came true. Been looking across the country TRYING to find a numbers matching original Henry Ford steel car, either it was completed for big money or sold in a New York minute. Came across a couple of 32 Pontiac's for sale and seller lives in the same city I live in. He mentioned he was selling the cars for his neighbor up the road cause the husband passed away a few years ago and it was time to sell some of his projects. When he mentioned she had a deuce, I wanted to see it asap.
The Davenports bought the car in 1950 when they were living in Oregon and brought the car to Ca in 1953 when they moved here. He took the car apart and started working on it, but never completed it. All the original pieces for the car (hood, grill, wheels etc etc) have been stored in their garage and the body was wrapped up really well with a couple of tarps. The sheet metal is in primo condition, can't believe its 81 years old. Got all paper work on car, DMV said its been a long time since they've seen a 50's pink slip title lol. I literally "bought the car off a little old lady", got a long way to go til its completed but looking forward to building me my Hot Rod. Here's some pics, enjoy...

I must be dreaming! What a great find and right in your area. Looks like the rear frame has been Z'd as they would have done in the day. Keep us posted on your progress. The car is 81 years old from new. I wished I looked that good. Brizio must have been away on business. Ha!

Yeah, the frame has been cut in the back and front. Rosemary told me she's happy its staying in Redwood City.
In my quest for this deuce I ran across a guy that has a 32 sedan that use to be Andy Brizio's high school hot rod? I called the shop this monday and told them they might want to get in touch with him. I told them "if you saw this guy's collection, you'd realize he's not a BS'er". I gave them his number and hopefully they are looking into it.

Great find! Look forward to the build thread. Bob

  8. Congrats! I hope you keep the frame and rear panel as is. Those styling cues will separate it from the crowd and be a unique roadster.

Thanks guy's. I was given all the paper work they had, found this receipt from when Rob bought it from previous owner (maybe original owner). He payed $125.00 for it back in 1950, not a bad return for his wifey.

He bought it in 1950, when did he stop working on it? Is this the longest time spent on an unfinished Hot Rod build? I'm is second place I believe. Bob

Yeah, looks like he bought it, disassembled it and than let it sit. He's got 2 32 Pontiacs along with a 50's Apache truck. I do know he was a airline mechanic of some sort, so it sounds like he enjoyed collecting more than building. Maybe he was a slave to the job, where they live in Redwood City is very pricy, but Rosemary told me they've always been a working class family.

Best of luck with the build! It has less body rust than my Dearborn Deuce.

cars coming out from long storage is getting common.

The former largest group of citizens are the baby boomers. The oldest of them are passing away. It only seems to reason that tons more will be up for sale.

the younger people are not really into these oldies for many good reasons.

Prices will drop. Not enough greybeards that would buy another project.
