Have been running a 700 R4 for 8 years, today I was just starting out and when it shifted to 2nd it went into neutral, I let off and it went back into gear . any ideas Thanks
Probably the best thing to do is run a pressure test on it to dial in the TV cable exactly,if that adjustment has changed it could fry it in a heartbeat, first thing is you lose 3-4 then it's too late it's gone. You might want to check out some videos:http://www.youtube.com/results?sear...j15.19.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.PHsnb7D6s8I
This is how it happened to me. I lost 3-4 first. Started home with it ( about 4 Miles), lost second and when I got home it would barely move.
I shredded several 700r4 governors in my old z28. The symptoms were normally that it wouldn't upshift. Which doesn't sound like what yours is doing. So while I wouldn't completely rule it out, doesn't sound like that the problem. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Mine did that little over four years ago, serviced it, and no issues since. so i'm going with some sort of trash in fluid?
Thanks to all, The car had been sitting for 3 months and was not really warm so will do the fluid thing.
Start with the easy stuff like fluid level and TV cable adjustment. It could just be a simple service job, oil and filter. While your in there disconnect the 1-2 shift solenoid. I bet the screen is a little dirty. Be the way I'm new here and yes I did an introduction thread. I've had 4 700R4's and 1 4LE60E which I rebuilt myself and ran till I sold my Blazer.
