Event Coverage Stafford Springs Swap Meet Oct 20

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BOSTONCAMARO, Oct 18, 2013.

  1. Anyone going to pick up that rare leaf blower, ATV tire or even rarely found Model A grill shell?

I will be there as always.

I found a 35/36 Mordrop with unsplit bones and 42/48 hubs/brakes last time, cheap, mixed in with modern rear axles

Bunch of estate sales have been going on this summer, so the pickers might have older stuff for sale. you never know

i will be there Sat at 10am as always.

Heads up for the Model A buyers..

There is a great deal on a 28/29 2dr sedan in the car corral. a stocker, older repaint, body & fenders look nice. Not a sufaced rusted barn find. 3500/BO Parked by the main road treeline, sitting next to a 57 Chevy panel truck.

Newbie tip, park in someones lawn, pay the man, and you can leave when you want, not boxed in on the "free" lot. Look forward to the report tomorrow evening. I did turn a $254.00 profit on a hub cap I bought there once. The CSRA swap in Bristol is better IMO. Bob

I don't mind picking through peoples trash to find treasure, it's the trash fires I can't stand.

I'm looking at houses tomorrow, so I won't be there. I plan on selling some 56 & 57 ford stuff at bristol, but if i just feel lazy I'll just go buy more crap

You guys missed nothing but a long walk and traffic getting in SUCKED this year unless you were looking for a leaf blower or quad parts

Not like the old days when you could park your rod on the track and cover the infield in a couple of hours and leave with a deuce grill for a hundred bucks! Where did the time go?

If I had room..it would have come home with me.......I thought the fires were minimal this year.. The drunken yelling was heightened.

Did it sell? If that didn't sell, the nation is done for. That was a great buy at the 3500, let alone the sign said "3500-BO"

I did not go today, I don't like crowds:D... well, actually I have too much to do here

Picked up a 51-52 F1 grille with good teeth and upper valence, a complete 1948 F1 cab with doors, most of a 2" dual exhaust kit, and some very nice wheels all for very fair prices. If I could get myself to make a shopping list I would of bought more but I cant keep all the project cars straight in my head.

Every year I say I'm not going to the next Stafford lawn equipment flea market. Twice a year I go anyway. Must have seen 100 chainsaws and 50 or mor snowblowers. One pair of 35 Ford rear fenders.
Why do I go? I guess for the exercise...not the fresh smoky air or quality concession food, that for sure. I bet I'll be there next spring.

Does anyone have a picture of the A Tudor that was for sale? Maybe a pic of the for sale sign with a phone number? I passed on going because of the numerous reasons that everyone listed, but now wish I went for that reason alone.. Looking for an A that is local... Maybe I'll get lucky and he will be at Bristol?

That A must be sold. It was priced low enough to flip for profit. I did not take the number.

I'm working on a 28/9 sidemounted roadster that the owner will sell at some point soon, but it will be 3x that price. That's the only A I know of around here.
