rbantique, Thanks for all those great pics!! That is uncle Dave Humphrey winning that midget feature. Just one of many from the I believe 7 time NEMA champion, and 1961 URC rookie of the year. I was lucky enough to go with him to several races and the ride home in the 69 Javelin with the 390 was always fun. Thanks for posting!!!

You are welcome .. Dick Mills deserves the credit for saving his scrapbook and John Eramo's great photo documentation captured the raw enthusiasm of the period for all of us to enjoy today.

Dick is semi retired but still finds time to brighten up old race cars and collect vintage vinyl
    records.

Here's one of Dick Mill's racecars, from 1967. Shortened '37 Ford coupe with '57 Cadillac motor coupled to hydromatic trans and an early version of the wing. The car had junk yard airplane hydraulics controlled by valving from a backhoe making it a springless chassis. The sidepods covered the battery and three five gallon GI cans of fuel. The car was fast but never reached its potential. The tech inspectors were not amused.

Always admired Dick Mills work! His striping is top shelf...then he adds a character in rat-fink style.
